First Playable version released!


I started this project almost two years ago as a side-project of a side-project. I never thought it would become a real game. Initially, it was just a way to learn how to code in AGS scripting language. The initial phase was challenging, and I was progressing very slowly. I dropped the project for a long time, then last summer, I decided to develop other parts, then dropped it again. Last December, I reopened the project, and when I was testing it, I realized that it was already quite fun to play and that most of the work was already done. I added the damage control system, the winning screen, some more voices, and the title screen; I adjusted the difficulty level algorithm, solved many bugs, and finally, the game was ready.

I have a long list of things I'd like to add: Enterprise bridge animations (like in 25th Anniversary), a proper animation for the explosion of the enterprise, more voices, a way to add McCoy, and music at the beginning. In terms of mechanics, I don't want to add the other features you can find in different versions (death rays, cloaking devices, and so on), but some things could be improved. For example, the fact that Klingons become weaker when they fire has always bugged me. Let's see; maybe I will solve this in the sequel :)

The new minor release (1.02) slightly changes how systems are damaged. Now the chances that a system gets damaged increase with the difficulty level. There are also a few additional voices.
